Unofficial fan remaster · Urban Assault, 1998
The strange, brilliant 1998 mix of strategy and tank combat, running on a modern engine. Every vehicle remodelled in Blender, a smarter enemy, a graphics menu that goes from pure 1998 to Ultra, and a VR edition that puts the whole battle on your kitchen table.
Drag the line. Same frame, same battle: original effects on the left, Reforged glow on the right.
Two ways in
The flat remaster. Same silhouettes and colours as 1998, real wear and modern detail. Plays exactly like the original, because underneath it is the original.
Flat edition →
Sit in an open cockpit at 120 Hz, or put the live battlefield on your real table through passthrough. Grab a tank. Dive into it.
VR edition →Same tank, 28 years apart
The Eisenhans was the first unit rebuilt. Nine versions. The cleaner ones looked like toys, so the rugged one won, and it set the rule for every vehicle since: battle-worn, never toy-clean, no camo patches.
Drag across. The 1998 model still sets the shape, size and gun position. Our version only adds what time and a war would.

The engine (with full source), the New Look model pack and a few smaller packs are being prepared. None of it contains a single Microsoft file, so you'll point it at your own Urban Assault.
